For July we have a Walnut Burger. Great for vegetarians (but not vegans) and even the meat lovers will go for them!
500 gm minced walnuts
500 gm other chopped nuts, peanuts etc.
2 cups cooked rice
2 cups grated cheese (rennet-less for vegetarians)
2 eggs (free range)
Mashed potato to bind
1 onion, finely chopped
Salt and pepper
Sauces to taste (e.g. Worcestershire, soy, Tabasco)
Make into patties (dip hands in cold water between each patty)
Place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes until ready to use
Grill or BBQ
Serve on a fresh bread bun with sautéed mushrooms, and salad.
